It...Sounds like you hit it at just the right time! It's been open only a couple times this year that I've seen - more because of too much snow and avalanche danger. Was ne...Got lucky with it being open two years ago. Was never at Alta before plus I'm getting use to skiing "wilder" stuff out west primarily skiing the east...so we were a bit nervous even though it looked very tempting. We were lucky, the snow was still fantastic...might have been because we only bootpacked about half the distance and dropped in early. Fantastic snow, moderate pitch and a couple of trees here and there. Could have done that all day. I really like finding hike / traverse to spots now, they usually hold snow a bit longer...Mary's Nipple at Targhee, West Bowl at Bachelor, Long Shot at Snowmass, probably the Hobacks at Jackson Hole.
